This contains insects as food, such as cricket or mealworm flour or insect protein. Darul Fatwa's school (Shafi^iyy) forbids eating insects other than locusts, as they are regarded as revolting (khabith), and dead insects are najis (impure), so it is Haram.

Darul Fatwa's school (Shafi^iyy) forbids eating insects other than locusts, as do the Hanafiyy and Hanbaliyy schools. The Malikiyy school permits them.

Translation “Among the kinds of najasah are: urine, feces, blood, pus, vomit, khamr, and maytah other than fish, locusts and humans, and likewise its bones and hair.”
