Health score
The health score is separate from the halal verdict and never changes it.
Each food gets a score out of 100, shown as a droplet that fills with water:
- 60% nutrition: sugar, salt, saturated fat, fiber, protein, and fruit, vegetables and nuts. It uses the public Nutri-Score 2023 method.
- 30% additives, each rated by published risk evidence. Any high-risk additive caps the score at 49.
- 10% certified organic.
Bands: Excellent 75–100 · Good 50–74 · Poor 25–49 · Bad 0–24. On Haram products the score is shown grayed out, for reference only.
Under the score, each nutrient gets one of four levels, straight from the Nutri-Score 2023 point tables: low when it earns no points, then moderate, high and very high for each third of that nutrient's maximum points. For example, sugar in foods is low up to 3.4 g per 100 g, moderate up to 20 g, high up to 37 g and very high above that. Tap a row to see the scale and where the product sits on it. Additives show their risk, the reason and the sources we rely on.
The health score covers food and drinks only. Cosmetics, supplements and medicine get the halal check, for now.
